There are times when it appears our world is in slumber, when we feel the solitude of winter. In these times our faith can waver, if only there was a sign that our efforts do not go unnoticed.
We were in the midst of winter, and a light dusting of snow had fallen in our northwest location. As I glanced outside the doorway something caught my eye, a flash of color that was uncommon this time of year.
A rose remained just outside my bedroom window, daring to expose itself to the elements. There it stayed for no less than two weeks, despite the freezing weather.
In those times when we search outside ourselves to find some sign or signal that all is well we might find the affirmation we seek in the strangest of places. It may be the appearance of a flower in unseasonable times, or an unprecidented appearance of a hummingbird, hawk or eagle in your pathway. Signs might also come through a chance meeting, or the renewal of a relationship gone dormant.
Signs are everywhere, we need only open our eyes and our hearts to the possible.
